*Family Memberships

Family discounts apply to additional members in the same household paid for by the same individual. Where one family member is paying a full fee Plus (18 yrs +) or General (30 yrs +) membership:

  • Additional Plus (18 yrs +) or General (30 yrs +) members receive a 15% discount
  • Members 29 years of age and under receive a 50% discount
  • The first four family members living in the same household are charged membership fees. Additional family members 17 years and under are FREE

Payment Options

Pre-authorized Payments

Your membership and pre-authorized payment method remains active unless the YMCA is notified in writing that you wish to make a change or to cancel your membership.

Monthly membership payments are debited from your bank account or credit card on the 1st or 20th of each month.  A membership commitment is required for 6 months. Your membership will be automatically renewed and the monthly payment adjusted to reflect the current membership fee.  Upon reaching the age of the next membership category, you will be automatically upgraded to that membership fee.  Your membership will not expire until the CKWYMCA is notified in writing that you wish to cancel your membership.

Any pre-authorized payment returned by your financial institution will result in a second attempt by the bank to recover the funds within 48 hours. If both transactions are returned, this may result in additional fees charged by your bank which will be paid by the member. In addition to the bank service charges, the CKWYMCA will administer $20.00 + HST service charge for any payments returned by your financial institution.

The return of an unpaid payment from the bank can result in cancellation of your CKWYMCA membership or program. 

Paid in Full

A membership commitment is required for 6 months. You may pay your annual membership in full with cash, debit card, cheque, Visa or Mastercard. Should you choose to cancel your membership you will receive a prorated refund for the remainder of the member fees.

Changes to Your Membership

Membership Category Changes

Should you wish to change your membership category, you may do so at any time. Any changes to your membership account must be made at least 5 days prior to your pre-authorized payment date. Members, upon reaching the age of the next membership category will automatically be upgraded to that membership category fee.

Holds & Cancellations

All membership cancellation and hold requests are available at the end of your 6 month commitment period.

You have the flexibility of putting your membership on hold for up to 3 consecutive months. The On Hold request must be made in person and done only once in the January to December calendar year. You do have the option to place individuals within a family membership on hold. 

All Membership Cancellation and On Hold requests must be received at least 5 days prior to your pre-authorized payment date. All unpaid payments returned by the bank to the YMCA will be subject to an administrative fee. Your Membership Card

Your YMCA membership card is not transferable and may only be used by you. Please keep your membership card safe and notify Member Services immediately if it is lost/stolen/damaged. Card must be presented at each visit. There is a card replacement fee of $5.00.
